Meals on Wheels
We are proud to be connected to the Meals on Wheels programs in both Orleans and Genesee counties.
Our partnership with Orleans County Office for the Aging began in 2009 when we were asked to oversee the Meals on Wheels/Nutrifare program.
The main goal of the program is to assist in maintaining the healthy independence of our senior population and improving their quality of life.
In 2016, Meals on Wheels in Orleans County served 43,672 meals and congregate sites served 5,848.
The Orleans County site is at 16 E. Academy Street in Albion. For more information, contact Vicki Havholm, Nutrition Program Coordinator, (585) 589-7817 or email@example.com.
Our association with Meals on Wheels in Genesee County began in 2012. For five years our team of staff and four individuals in the culinary arts training program have been providing about 36,000 hot, nutritious meals annually to eligible Genesee County seniors.
The Culinary team also caters several meeting and events each month and community members may rent the Arc Community Center for their events and hire the culinary team to provide catering. As part of the training curriculum, individuals with disabilities in participate in food safety and preparation training, menu development, and customer service.
The Culinary Arts Program is located at the Arc of Genesee Orleans Community Center, 38 Woodrow Road, Batavia.
